  1. Weaving is the production of textile fabric 
  2. by means of a loom. The basic process is the 
  3. interlacing at right angles of longitudinal 
  4. threads (the warp) and horizontal threads 
  5. (the weft), the latter being carried across 
  6. from one side of the loom to the other by a 
  7. type of bobbin called a shuttle. The 
  8. technique of weaving has been used all over 
  9. the world since ancient times and has only 
  10. fairly recently been mechanized.
